Telecom Changes To Spark

Telecom changes their name to Spark. Simon Moutter thinks that they should change the name telecom in to a new name for the company.

I think that the name spark is new for the people that use telecom. I like the new name spark because it is nice for the company.

New Zealand Popular Surnames

New Zealand has a list of the most popular surnames and it is Smith. It has had a 100-year reign as the most popular surname in New Zealand. It’s been popular since 1913.

Internal Affairs records show that Smith, Wilson and Williams were the three most popular family names in the country in 2013.

However In Auckland (NZ’s biggest city) the top surnames are in, and this year they are a bit different. Lots of popular surnames are down the list and the name Smith is coming 5th!

Australia Mine

The Australian government has given the OK for a  huge underground coal mine. They made this project and it could produce 60 million tonnes of coal a year. This mine will become the most largest mine in the world. It will help provide electricity to 100 million people. However, the mine is located at The great Barrier reef. It is a world famous wonder of nature. They are also worried about plans that would allow the mining company to dredge material from the seabed. However, the Australian government say there will be strict rules to limit any damage.

I find this hard to believe that any Government would do this to a wonder of the world.

Why Did I Choose This Symbol?


I chose it because it is easy to draw using sumo paint. Pakistan is a country with heaps of people. I like this because the colours are the same on their flag. This symbol reminds me of a big flower.

Samoan Dance

On Saturday my sister and I went to the open air concert.  We had to get ready for it and drove all  the way to Otara to perform and we arrived just in time. After we arrived we got our instruments ready. When we were ready the boys did their slap dance and us girls got ready for our Samoan dance.

We did three dances.  The people doing speeches had to wait until we had finished.
